Who sees what, and where does the data live?
Energy data shows how a facility runs. This page explains how the platform limits access and how it can be deployed.
Who sees what
Access is granted by role. Roles and permissions are set up during deployment.
Tenant
My Office
Tenants see their own office's consumption and comfort, and no one else's.
Facility manager
Overview
Daily summary of the site, consumption and open events on one screen.
Alarms
Open and closed alarm events; an alarm is the start of a workflow.
Invoice Tracking
Tracking and checking the invoices issued to the site.
Technician
Maintenance
Maintenance plans and work orders.
Field Checklists
Checklists completed in the field.
The platform is designed around these principles
Tenant isolation
A tenant sees only their own data and cannot access other tenants’ data.
Role-based access
Each user sees only the screens and data their role requires.
Privacy in comparisons
Comparisons between tenants are designed so that no single tenant can be singled out (k-anonymity principle).
Network separation
The network for field devices is designed to be kept separate from other networks (VLAN).
Genie works with approval
Genie’s actions are bound by these principles:
- Genie recommends, you approve.
- Write operations arrive as drafts and are not applied without your approval.
- If the data is not reliable, automatic actions stop.
- Critical load operations always require human approval.
Where the data lives
Where the data is kept depends on the customer’s needs; the platform can run on the customer’s own servers (on-prem).
The platform runs in two ways; payment is by annual licence or monthly subscription. What pricing is based on is explained on the How we work page.
On-prem. The platform runs on your own servers.
Cloud. We run the platform; no servers needed on your side.
- On-prem
- Cloud
Let’s talk about your security requirements
Join the early access list; we’ll go through your organisation’s access, deployment and data requirements together in a demo.
